1. What is “ SAKURA” Wine Awards?

We do welcome all new comers who have not heard “SAKURA” Japan Women’s Wine Awards.

“Sakura” Japan Women’s Wine Awards, the largest competition in Japan, is chaired by Yumi Tanabe, wine educator and writer. All the judges were Japanese women selected from among profound wine specialists including sommeliers, winemakers, wine educators, wine journalists, distributors, retailers, and buyers. This is our third year and there were 3,543 items entered. Compared to the 2,904 items in the second year (2015) and 1,922 items in the first year (2014), it has shown considerable growth. They were judged under strict supervision by blind tasting by 380 judges.
