Results - The 12th "SAKURA" Japan Women's Wine Awards 2025
The 12th “SAKURA” Japan Women’s Wine Awards judging sessions were held in Tokyo on January 28th at Hotel Gajoen Tokyo, and in Osaka on February 4th at Hotel Nikko Osaka.
A total of 430 judges, all women mostly in the Japanese wine industry, judged 3,962 items from 36 countries.
242 items were awarded “Double Gold”, 1,187 items were awarded “Gold”, 862 items were awarded “Silver”, and a total of 2,291 items were honored with awards.
In addition, 64 of outstanding items from the "Double Gold" were honored with the "Diamond Trophy".
There are also “Special Awards”, which consists of 8 sub-categories, and “Best Pairing Wine for Asian Cuisine” consists of 9 sub-categories. The items with the highest score in each category were awarded the title of “Grand Prix”.
Furthermore, SAKURA AWARDS 2025 has introduced the new judging categories; “Low Alcohol Wine” and “Non-Alcoholic Wine”. The award-winning wines which are applicable to the categories are shown in the list.
Additionally, in view of the recent market expansion, we are also considering the establishment of special awards of “Low Alcohol Wine” and “Non-Alcoholic Wine”.
