The 8th Sakura Award 2021, Diamond Trophy and Grand Prix of Special Awards will be announced on Friday, March 19 at 18:00 (Japan time).

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude for your support for the 8th Japan Women's Wine Awards (commonly known as Sakura Awards).

We are pleased to announce that the Diamond Trophy and the Grand Prix of Special Awards will be announced on our website at 6:00 p.m.(Japan time) on Friday, March 19.

This year's judging session was divided into two venues, Tokyo (February 8) and Osaka (February 16), to avoid long-distance travel for the judges, and a total of 186 people participated.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the judges and service staffs who participated.

In Japan, still the situation of COVID-19 is not improving. We regret to announce that we will not be able to hold the award ceremony this year, due to not easy to invite winery people from out of Japan and to avoid a dense crowd.
Yumi Tanabe, President of SAKURA AWARDS, will personally deliver the Trophies, Kiso lacquerware craft, to the winners. If the entry is from overseas and there is an importer in Japan, the trophy will be delivered to the importer.

The Sakura Award will continue to make efforts to help revitalize the wine industry, as we move forward together with you toward the future.
We hope that you will continue to support us in this endeavor.
